Meet Roo! ❤️

Our Little furry friend was found abandoned as a small kit and we were lucky enough to happen upon her.

We cleaned her up, nursed her back to health, bottle fed, kept her warm, helped her learn how to climb (dang they grow so fast) she stole our hearts to say the least.

Here’s the thing, it’s illegal to have a Raccoon as a pet in Idaho. So as much as she stole our hearts we just couldn’t keep her — luckily, our local zoo was able to step in!

The zoo has taken Roo in, cared for her, and obtained the proper licensing to give her a permanent home. Now there's just one thing Roo is missing…

Her very own zoo enclosure! ✨

We're raising funds to help build Roo a fun, safe space where she can climb, explore, play, nap, and carry on with her very important raccoon business.

And once her enclosure is built, Roo won't just have a home — she'll have visitors! People will be able to come to the zoo, meet Roo, see her personality, and learn more about raccoons and wildlife.

So we're hoping our community will come together and help us make Roo's Zoo Home a reality!

We’re not a government zoo. We don’t have million-dollar donors. We’re a privately funded rescue trying to keep 100+ surrendered animals alive. No bailouts. No safety net.

Just volunteers, a few sponsorships, and people like you.

Right now, we’re facing tough financial headwinds.

We’re $3,800 behind on utilities, and we need $12,500 for labor this month just to survive.

Meanwhile:

We're still taking in animal rescues - 101 as of today. The most recent was a busted cockatoo.

And yet… the same people who say they “love the zoo” walked away at the Western Days street fair when we asked for even $5.

• Even Central Park Karen raised $100K.

• A racist anti-masker raised $700K.

If those women can raise funds, surely these animals warrant donations.

Our goal is $30,000 to cover power, labor, and a summer of care and rescue.

Hey Animal Lovers! It's crunch time at Twin Falls Zoological Center!

For the past year, we've been working hard to fundraise, build, and obtain animals, all while still keeping our commitment to educating local schools and organizations about wildlife and conservation. This past year we've faced material shortages, supply chain issues, and a significant slowing of donations and sponsorships. On top of this, we still need to hire and train staff! We also didn't factor in an 8.7% cost of living increase in our budget, and now we are facing a severe financial shortage.

We need to raise $100,000 to open with all exhibits completed and occupied. $50,000 will allow us to open with a few "Future home of..." exhibits. This seems like a lot of money, but every donation moves us closer to being open!
