Twenty-First Century African Youth Movement

Mrs. Jalloh is a 19 19-year-old married college student who gave birth via cesarean section to triplets on September 11, 2019, two of whom are identical twins conjoined at the abdomen starting at the xiphoid process and who share a liver. They are the first surviving conjoined twins in Sierra Leone.   Sadly, the third baby has unfortunately passed away from a respiratory infection. 

The Hospital have agreed to do the surgery pro bono. We are seeking help for accommodation and support while they are here before they return to Sierra Leone.

The parents diligently went to all prenatal appointments, but the diagnostic tests available in Sierra Leone did not detect that the twins were conjoined, or that there was a third baby.

In a poor West African country such as Sierra Leone, it is extremely difficult to find a qualified doctor to perform such a rare life saving surgery as separating conjoined twins. The most they can do is a hernia repair. The parents, with all good intent, do not have the financial capacity to manage this overwhelming challenge that now confronts them.
