Trustees of Bloomfield Academy (Skowhegan Free Public Library)

The Trustees of Bloomfield Academy are fundraising the $230,000 needed to update and install a new heating, ventilation, & air conditioning system in the Skowhegan Free Public Library. The COVID pandemic made us acutely aware of the need for good air circulation in any public space, and it's especially crucial for us, as our library serves as both a warming center in the winter and a cooling center in the summer. It's important that we are able to provide a comfortable and safe environment for our community and our patrons, and through this updated infrastructure we hope to be able to achieve that.

This is an enormous project, but the current units housed in the library are old and outdated and have begun to cost more in regular repairs than they are worth. It's long past due for them to be replaced, and so we are looking to do so with a new set of units that are energy efficient and will last us a good, long time.
