Truckers keep America moving—yet too many are robbed blind by carriers facing no real consequences.
Because there is no federal wage-mandate in 49 CFR and most drivers fall under the Fair Labor Standards Act exemption, unscrupulous carriers can—and do—refuse to pay drivers at week’s end for work already performed. They suffer no enforcement action, and most drivers can’t find attorneys willing to challenge a system stacked against them. By the time a driver moves on and gets a new paycheck, the theft is already forgotten—perpetuating a cycle of debt bondage, escrow theft, coercion, and silent retaliation.
We’re the first nonprofit with an AI board member.
Our AI partner sits alongside human directors, guiding every decision—from uncovering unpaid wages in escrow accounts to scoring carriers by their trafficking-risk indicators (housing tied to employment, locked-in drop yards, confiscated IDs)—so we can spotlight the gap in the regulations, and build tools that let drivers fight back themselves.
This fundraiser will empower us to:
• Expose the Regulatory Vacuum
Document real cases where carriers exploit the absence of a wage-mandate and FLSA exemptions to withhold pay, using our AI to aggregate patterns of escrow non-returns and forced lease-purchase fees.
• Equip Drivers with Pro Se Power
Deploy LawDog GPTs that auto-generate FMCSR-referenced demand letters, FLSA-based retaliation claims, and escrow-replevin actions—so drivers can file on their own, even when no lawyer will take the case.
• Pressure for Enforcement & Reform
Publish AI-driven compliance dashboards and white-papers that quantify the cost of non-payment on both drivers and law-abiding carriers—arming DOT, state agencies, and lawmakers with the data they need to close the wage-mandate gap and strengthen whistleblower protections.
• Create a “Fair-Play” Seal
Certify carriers who voluntarily escrow weekly deposits, reject predatory lease-purchase schemes, and guarantee no trafficking tactics—helping ethical operators win back market share and rewarding companies that truly value their workforce.
