Founded in 1988 by social workers, Treehouse is Washington’s leading nonprofit organization addressing the academic and other essential support needs of more than 8,000 youth in foster care. They are committed to youth in care statewide achieving a degree or other career credential, living wage job, and stable housing.
Treehouse partners with youth in foster care by providing:
- Access to clothes, toys, and school supplies
- Weekly academic support for youth in high school
- Funding for formative childhood experiences like summer camps, sports, and others
- Funding for Driver’s Assistance programs to help youth get their driver’s license
- Access to a Launch Success coach to guide the transition from high school to adulthood
