The Vigil Project

My name is Maria Paola, and I’m a Catholic musician raising funds to attend a powerful formation experience in Italy with The Vigil Project from May 30 to June 9, 2025.

Since I was a little girl, my relationship with the Lord through music has shaped my life. Singing and playing the piano and guitar have always been vehicles for something deeper: a desire to lead others in praising and worshipping God. I’m deeply grateful to my parents, who nurtured both my faith and musical gifts from a young age.

Over the past six years, I’ve felt a growing call to serve the Lord through music ministry. I long to grow in the ways He is inviting me, and this Catholic Musicians' Summit is an incredible opportunity to do just that.

Over ten days the Vigil Project will be providing me (and a cohort of musicians from around the world) with essential training on liturgy, devotion, and musicianship. The aim is to equip me with the prayerful vision, skills and energy such that I can return

home to do something really great with music here in our community. I'll also

receive a once-in-a-lifetime chance to explore the life of St. Francis in Assisi,

experience the Italian coast and Tuscany city of Modena, and be in Rome on

Pentecost in the Jubilee year. There will also be a private nighttime mass for us

musicians at the tomb of St. Cecilia. It will be an unforgettable and formative

experience for me in my journey as a Catholic and musician.

I need to raise $1,800 to help pay for this experience, and any additional funds

raised will cover my international travel expenses (flights, passport, etc.).

Desde que era niña, mi relación con el Señor a través de la música ha sido una parte fundamental de mi vida. Cantar y tocar el piano y la guitarra han sido los medios, pero el corazón de mi misión es guiar a otros a alabar y adorar al Señor. Estoy profundamente agradecida a mis padres, que desde pequeña cuidaron y fomentaron tanto mi fe como mis dones musicales.

En los últimos seis años he sentido un llamado profundo a servir al Señor por medio de la música, y tengo un gran deseo de crecer en la forma en que Él me llama. Esta formación de músicos Católicos es una oportunidad increíble que sé que me ayudará a acercarme más al Señor y a seguir diciendo “sí” a su llamado en mi vida.

Durante diez días, The Vigil Project ofrecerá formación esencial en liturgia, devoción y técnica musical, junto a un grupo de músicos de todo el mundo. El objetivo es equiparme con una visión de oración, habilidades y energía para volver a casa y poner al servicio de nuestra comunidad todo lo aprendido. También tendré la oportunidad única de seguir los pasos de San Francisco en Asís, conocer la costa italiana y la ciudad toscana de Módena, y estar en Roma durante Pentecostés en este Año Jubilar. Además, viviremos una misa privada por la noche en la tumba de Santa Cecilia, patrona de los músicos. Será una experiencia inolvidable y profundamente formativa en mi camino como católica y música.

formation with The Vigil Project THIS May 30th – June 9th, 2025 in Italy. Over ten days they'll be providing me (and a cohort of musicians from around the world) with essential training on liturgy, devotion, and musicianship. The goal

is to equip me with a prayerful vision, skills, and passion so that I can return home, ready and confident, to do something great with music here in our community.

During this trip I'll receive a once-in-a-lifetime chance to explore the life of St. Francis in Assisi and be in Rome on

Pentecost (June 8th, my birthday!!) in the Jubilee year. There'll also be a private nighttime mass for us musicians at the tomb of St. Cecilia...(on my birthday, and St. Cecilia is my Patron Saint!! What?!?)! This is going to be an unforgettable and formative experience for me in my journey as a Catholic and a musician. I can't wait to use what I will have learned on this Summit to share the gift of music more powerfully to all Christians around the world.

God has been speaking to me so much this past year about my gift of music and where He desires to lead me. It's become clear that I'm being pulled towards songwriting. I'm very passionate about the topic of mental health and suffering since I've gone through a fair share of trials with my Chronic Lyme disease and mental health. I want to write music that helps those suffering feel less alone and closer to the heart of God, their father and maker. I've been blessed to currently be using my gifts at Saint John the Evangelist Church, Holy Cross Family Ministries, PVD Music, and at numerous weddings & funerals.

For this to happen, I need to raise $3,150 to help pay for this experience and cover my international travel expenses.

My name is Josh – I'm a Catholic musician and filmmaker from Austin, TX that is raising funds to receive formation in Italy with The Vigil Project this May 30th – June 9th, 2025 in Italy. Over ten days they will be providing me (and a cohort of musicians from around the world) with essential training on liturgy, devotion, and musicianship. The aim is to equip me with the prayerful vision, skills and energy such that I can return home with a renewed passion for creativity through my music and videography. I'll also receive a once-in-a-lifetime chance to explore the life of St Francis in Assisi, experience the Italian coast and Tuscany city of Modena, and be in Rome on Pentecost in the Jubilee year. My name is Theresa Ambat – I'm a Catholic musician raising funds to receive formation in Italy with The Vigil Project this May 30th – June 9th, 2025, in Italy.

If you know me, you know I have been a musician ever since I was a young child, singing karaoke at Filipino gatherings and writing short songs about fictional characters on my toy guitar. My love for music continued to grow in high school, where I fell deeper in love with songwriting and music production. Throughout college, I had a life-changing encounter with Jesus, who poured His love upon me, and I felt the Lord calling me to pursue music more deeply for His glory. During those years, I had the chance to release my first album and share my testimony and personal music at intimate venues in Seattle, partaking in a small mission to speak into people's hidden thirst for God. My greatest desire today is to help people know the sweet Lord who is abundant love itself--and some of my favorite ways to do this are through authentic songwriting and providing music for Mass and Eucharistic adoration.
