Student Film on Displaced Afghan Sikhs & Hindus
We are a group of passionate and dedicated high school students of the First Ever Youth Run Online TV channel - Nishkam TV- who have come together to create a powerful and impactful documentary under the mentorship and guidance of Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Harbaldeep Singh, in collaboration with the Sikh Coalition. This fundraiser is for a film being created entirely by the students of Nishkam TV. All funds raised through this page will go directly to Nishkam TV for the development of this project; the Sikh Coalition is solely providing support, including via the facilitation of this page, at the request of Nishkam TV.
We want to tell the untold stories of Afghan Sikhs & Hindus who have faced immense challenges and religious persecution in their homeland. Through our film, Baywatana, we aim to share their experiences of resilience, hope, and determination as they navigate life in new countries.
With this campaign, we are reaching out to you, our supporters, and fellow advocates of justice and compassion. Your donations will enable us to cover travel costs, worldwide rights of stock and archival footage used, and making of Part 2 of the documentary.
By supporting our project, you are not only helping us tell these important stories but also empowering the next generation of filmmakers to make a meaningful impact. As high school students, we are defying the conventional wisdom that filmmaking is exclusively reserved for serious and professional adults.
