S.O.S. Save Our Shorkey!!
Each week, The Shorkey Center serves 350 children from 34 zip codes, with nearly 100 more on the waiting list. We offer vital programs and services for special needs children, including:
• speech, occupational, physical, and aquatic therapies,
• ABA therapy for children with autism,
• autism testing and screening clinics,
• community outreach for families, and
• other unique opportunities like stand-up paddleboarding, art camps, dance recitals, adaptive tricycle rallies, and kayak excursions.
Shorkey provides these services regardless of a family’s ability to pay. We also offer the only pre-kindergarten program in Southeast Texas dedicated to serving children with behavioral or physical disabilities—without us, these children have nowhere to go.
