Help SMT Reach Our $20K Match Fund Goal
The world needs artists, and artists need more spaces like SMT.
Artists are culture bearers, thought-leaders, innovators, visionaries, heart-stewards, bridge-builders and community-conveners, among many other things. And given the state of the world, we need artists more than ever to help us process what we are living, respond to the moment, and envision where to go from here. The world needs artists, and it is our job to support them.
We believe artists have a critical role to play in this moment in history, and every moment in history; SMT provides support artists need to thrive, develop their message, and to amplify it.
A private donor has pledged to give $10,000 to SMT in 2023 if we match this donation with $20,000.
With your help, we can do it.
$30K would cover 30% of our operating budget for 2024.
This means scholarships for residents and students
More arts-based ethical leadership development training
Field influencing artist residency intensives and artist-run classes
Take a look at our CASE FOR GIVING for more information about what we have accomplished in the last few years and where we are headed.

We want to sweeten the deal for you, and give you a taste of our programming. Donate $50 or more to our GoFundMe today and receive access to an exclusive workshop for donors. Donate $100 and receive access to two workshops. Workshops will take place online in early 2024. More info below.

Herbs for Dreams: Plant Medicine and Shifting Worldscapes with Charmaine Bee. This two-hour workshop will explore the ways that plant medicine can support us through internal and external shifts in worldscapes. Participants will explore somatic movement, plant ingestion and meditation, dream work and their relationship with ancestral lineage.

Trash Class! (Trashy? Classy?) with Alex Tatarasky. How do we generate masks, shows, poems, choreography, sculpture from the detritus and discard of our world? Get inspired by garbage!

I ask you to support The School of Making Thinking in 2023 and help us meet our $20,000 goal before the end of the year. Your generosity gives us the support and encouragement to continue the work of creating transformative programs that support artists as leaders. Your donation will automatically increase 50% if we can meet our match goal and secure the $10,000.
Yours sincerely,
Sophie
