This holiday season, I'm choosing to celebrate by giving back instead of receiving gifts. When asked what charity to donate to as a gift for Amber Heard, she often just says: “donate to a local women’s shelter.” It just so happens that this holiday season, what’s local for me is Austin, Texas — a place that I’m sure is close to Amber’s Heart. 

The SAFE Alliance serves the survivors of child abuse, sexual assault and exploitation, and domestic violence in the Austin area.

SAFE is committed to providing counselling, advocacy, legal assistance, and shelter for any individual who experiences violence and abuse, including those in the LGBTQIA community. SAFE has created a task force dedicated to ensuring survivors of the LGBTQIA community have a welcoming space. 

In the spirit of giving, I would like give a gift to Amber Heard by donating to the Safe Alliance, and I ask that you join me in doing so. 

Over the last few years the Girl's and Boy's Gymnastics Teams at Crenshaw Athletic Club have raised roughly $40,000 to help SAFE combat abusive in our community.

We find it especially important to teach these kids values outside of gymnastics as well as help spread awareness of an issue bigger than the sport.

Any amount is appreciated.  We know times are a little tougher than in the past.  We will be running this campaign through December and will end January 1.

For the 4th year we will be raising money for the SAFE Allience.  SAFE's mission is to lead in ending sexual assault and exploitation, child abuse, and domestic violence through prevention, intervention, and advocacy for change

With your help, the competitive gymnastics teams at Crenshaw Athletic Club has helped raise over $23, 000 for the SAFE Alliance over the last three years.  We have set the same goal as last year, $5,000.  We nearly doubled that goal in our last effort!!!
