Girl Gang's mission has always been to create a platform that allows women to connect in a way that has a professional, and potentially personal, impact. Over the past few months we have seen people and cities all over the world struggle in ways we could never have imagined but also come together to support those around them, those in need. While there are countless charities and worthy missions of all shapes, sizes and colors, we have decided that the best place for GG Helps to start is in our own backyard.  Combining the strength of over 650 female voices and hearts we are expanding our mission, with the help of The River Fund New York, Inc., "to feed and empower those we serve to move beyond the lines of poverty."

RIVER FUND is the lifeline for 15,000 families living in 120 zip-codes all across New York City. Thrust into poverty by the Great Recession, then buffeted further by Superstorm Sandy, those same families are facing COVID-19. RIVER FUND remains 100% operational in this crisis. We are responding to the needs of our clients as they change in this evolving disaster. We are standing with our neighbors. Please stand with us!

About Our Fund: 

As dance instructors and a yoga teacher in New York, we want to bring happy and zen in the homes hit the hardest by the COVID-19 crisis, so we are aiming to raise $1500 for RIVER FUND  who supports 15,000 families in New York City with food, resources and counseling.

What is “Wine Yo Body”?:

When what's going on in the world is this heavy, how do you stay happy? For us it's always been dance and judging by what we're seeing on TikTok these days, we aren't alone. Pre-quarantine we tried another movement proven to increase happiness - yoga. At Sammy's request .... "I don't want to do a normal yoga class" we headed to YS at CorePower Yoga. Yoga sculpt is pulsing upbeat music and high energy movement that brings you to zen by the end, and is heavily beat-based, teaching you to match breath to movement so you feel like you're dancing through it! We partnered up with CorePower-trained instructor Tara Kirkpatrick to combine yoga and dance for a fun 40-minute class. For Wine Yo Body, we flow and dance exclusively to unreleased tracks by artist Checo whose tropical pop and acoustic vibes will help you when you don't think you can "HANDLE" (pun intended) anymore. Normally you flow with 3 and 5 lbs weights, and in the spirit of Happy Hour, we'll be picking up the bottles below instead ;)

1lb weight equivalent: can of hard seltzer/kombucha/ beer
