Global Peace Challenge 2020
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Global Peace Challenge 2020, a program under the umbrella of The Peace Abbey Inc (The Peace Abbey), and any donation will help make an impact. While much of the work so far has been accomplished with a very low budget and thanks to the help from volunteers, we have and will incur expenses. Funds raised will be used to cover those expenses. If we are blessed with excess donations, the plan is to fund a college scholarship for a Peace & Justice student. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me. Global Peace Challenge 2020 is a yearlong celebration featuring local and worldwide events dedicated to promoting Peace around the world. By uniting like-minded people around the world and sharing our stories and experiences on social media, the message of peace will be heard by millions of people. When millions of people of all races, religions, and countries demand and promote peace, people will listen.
More specifically, the purpose of the movement is to build and grow an on-line community of peacemakers and peace seekers to encourage, promote, and chronicle peace-focused activities throughout the iconic year 2020. The mission is to provide a positive force to offset all the negativity and violence average people encounter on a daily basis, whether through personal experience, news media, or social media. We want to introduce hope and joy into peoples’ lives when it is needed the most.
We are a grass roots movement based in Vermont, organized and sponsored under the Peace Abbey. The Peace Abbey is a non-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) charitable organization, based in Mills, Massachusetts, founded in 1988 to create, maintain, and promote innovative models for social change that reflect the principles of non-violence that exist within the major faith traditions around the world. https://www.peaceabbey.org/
Global Peace Challenge 2020 includes:
(1) Recruiting support from as many "Peace Ambassadors" as possible from different countries around the world, willing to show support for the movement. Peace Ambassadors are encouraged to share a local peace-related activity/story, organize/sponsor an event, or recruit other supporters
(2) Engaging at least one Peace Ambassador (supporter) from each US state, who share and promote activities consistent with the mission
(3) Connecting people of all generations, including college students and school children to share and create peace-related events like concerts, vigils, marches, and anti-bullying campaigns
While we are not affiliated with any organized religion, we gladly affiliate and partner with any group or faith community seeking Peace.
