Did you know that therapy services for children with developmental delays & disabilities are extremely limited in Ethiopia and care for these children is impeded by stigma and lack of awareness?

Underprivileged children with developmental delays & disabilities in Ethiopia often find themselves isolated, lonely, and with little hope. Most of these children do not attend school and have no formal support. You have now the opportunity to help these children to reach for their God-given potential – preparing them to attend school, play with others, get specialized care, and feel fully supported.

The Nahum Samson Memorial Foundation has partnered with Melu’e Foundation Comprehensive Therapy Center, a therapy center based in Ethiopia for children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental delays. Melu’e Foundation is a registered charity organization in Ethiopia founded by Mrs. Tigist Hailu and Mr. Kinfe Tsige - parents of a child with autism - with the aim of supporting and empowering children with special needs and their families by creating an integrated society free of stigma.

Melu'e Comprehensive Therapy Center provides IEP based intensive one-to-one therapy services in addition to group and family therapy services which makes the facility a center of excellence. The Center currently has enrolled only 34 children in two shifts due to resource constraints with more than 300 children on a waiting list.

With your donation, you are helping to ensure that the Therapy Center can continue the day-to-day operation of providing therapy services without interruption to more children who are in need of such life changing provisions of care and services.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 to support the Therapy Center in its effort to secure its own practice place (together with other funding options) and enroll additional underprivileged children from the waitlist for the coming new year.
