IN MEMORY OF CHERYL DODD
Dearest Friends, Family, and Our Beloved Community,
It is with great sadness that we share with you the following:
Cheryl Sue Lynnette Donaho Dodd of Palacios, TX went to be with her Savior and Lord on May 20, 2023. Born July 7, 1952, in Seguin, TX, graduated from Floresville HS in 1970, she met Wayne A. Dodd, the love of her life, at age 15, and they married at age 21 in 1973.
Cheryl was a pillar of every community she lived in and was the embodiment of a Servant’s Heart. She put care into action; a woman of unshakable faith in God and prayer, she supported everyone she could in any capacity needed.
She paused her education to raise her family, but proudly graduated with a BA in Health Administration at age 59. Cheryl’s generous efforts and entrepreneurial spirit impacted her community, especially in Palacios, TX. If it weren’t for Cheryl, we may not have the Friends of Elder Citizens Senior Center, Meals on Wheels, R-Transit, Food Pantry, The Outrigger, the Palacios Museum, and most recently, The Montgomery Home
She is survived by her best friend and loving husband Wayne, her three children Candyce (Tim) Slusher, Jonathan (Joann) Dodd, and Kelly (Kevin) Davis, and her precious grandchildren that were the light of her life: Jacob, Isaiah, Jayla, Oran, Keira, Kenly, Nicholas, Ti’Shaun, Kevin. Also, her beloved sister Marilyn Mills, brother Ralph Wayne Donaho, 15 nieces and nephews, and countless friends round out an enormous extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents Gus and Adele Donaho and sister Jeanine Richardson.
The celebration of Cheryl’s beautiful life will be held on

Cheryl poured all of her heart, soul, love, energy, and enthusiasm into bringing The Montgomery Home to life over the last year. If you would like to honor her memory and her lasting legacy project, a donation made to The Montgomery Home through GoFundMe would mean the world to Cheryl.
