Danny's Crew (4x4x48)
Starting on March 5th, at 8pm, Jared and I (Kristin) will head out and run 4 miles. We will continue to run 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 straight hours, ending on Sunday March 7th. We are doing this as part of David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge. David challenges people to participate every year, with this being the second year of it. This will be Jared and my first year attempting this physically demanding challenge. We have been training hard the past few weeks and will continue to train and prepare to not only be physically ready to take on this incredible challenge, but more importantly mentally ready!
The physical demand of this challenge may sound like a lot, but it is nothing compared to what children battling cancer go through every single day. Jared and I are taking on this challenge in hopes to raise as much money as possible for 8 year old Danny Sheehan, who has been battling Pineoblastoma. Pineoblastoma is a rare and aggressive brain cancer. Danny has been fighting Pineoblastoma since January of 2017. While he physically and mentally fights this awful disease we want to show him and his family they are not alone in this fight. In order to continue supporting Danny and his family we want to raise money to support the Magical Moon Foundation.
The Magical Moon Foundation is an organization whose mission is to nurture and empower children with cancer and other life-threatening conditions. They support children and their families by teaching healthy ways to deal with some of the challenges and stress they face. While there are many wonderful organizations that support research, Magical Moon uniquely strives to empower children to manifest miracles in their lives. At Magical Moon Farm, they strive to focus on whole body health. Working to make the connection that Mind, Body, and Spirit must all work together in order for us to be healthy.
At Magical Moon Farm children can feed their bodies with their nutrition programs, and can feed their minds and spirits with their educational, arts-themed, magical grounds. It is a safe haven for guards to be let down, for emotions to be expressed, for experiences to be shared, and for kids to simply relax and experience some fun and joy.
Like many other organizations, the Magical Moon Foundation has been hit hard by the impact of Covid-19 and they struggle to remain a place of safety and empowerment for kids like Danny. The Magical Moon Foundation has been a place of rejuvenation and empowerment for Danny and many other children and it needs our support to continue helping children and families throughout their time of need.
Please help us raise as much as we can in this time of need for the Magical Moon Foundation, while we do our part to continue to train to prepare ourselves to take on the challenge of the 4x4x48 on March 5th-7th. Danny's crew will be ready both physically and mentally!
