The Larry Gilbert Foundation, Inc.

For over 25 years, the Gilbert Bunnell Foundation (GBF) has connected with young people in Central Kentucky through the game of golf. Golf teaches youth not only a fun game that can be enjoyed for a lifetime, but also instills life skills and values that extend beyond the golf course. We strive to continue to positively impact the lives of youth in our area and create lifelong golfers along the way. On Sunday, November 8, 2020 four golfers will make the pilgrimage to Sweetens Cove Golf Club in South Pittsburgh, Tennessee and embark on an all-day quest to raise funds to benefit the Gilbert Bunnell Foundation, a 501(c)(3) located in Lexington, Kentucky. Over the last year, I have become involved in and joined the Board of Directors of the Larry Gilbert/Dave Bunnell Junior Golf Foundation of Lexington.  As part of my duties as a Director, I have been tasked with leading our fundraising efforts.  In addition to just asking for donations, I have decided to try something a little different this year.  On Wednesday, June 19th, I am going to walk and play as many holes as I can in one day at Lexington Country Club.  My goal is to walk and complete 100 holes.  I will have a ride along caddie throughout the day, but I won’t be using it for my transportation.  You could call this a golf marathon.

I am encouraging people and organizations to pledge to donate in any of the ways listed below, or please feel free to come up with your own creative idea.

I am proud to be associated with this wonderful organization that has had an impact on thousands of youth in the central Kentucky area.  Our organization was founded in 1995 and we continue to have a strong impact in developing our future golfers.  We recently partnered with Lexington Parks and Recreation to expand our presence.  Our goal as an organization is to provide junior golfers access to the game, while also providing valuable life skills coaching.  This year we will provide numerous junior golf camps, a 12-event summer tour and other family events throughout the year, with plans of expansion in the future.  For more information, check out our website below.
