The Balakhanlou family created this page to honor the life and memory of Farid Balakhanlou — a man remembered for his strength, compassion, and quiet wisdom. Farid’s life was defined by his deep devotion to family, his integrity, and the warmth he extended to everyone around him.

Farid passed away unexpectedly from complications related to an aortic aneurysm in October 2025. In his memory, we invite family and friends to support the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health. Dear Friends,

Next month I’ll be participating in the LA Marathon, not just as a personal challenge, but to honor the memory of my Dad. As many of you know, my Dad suddenly passed away in September of 2020 due to an aortic aneurysm. Over the last few years I've struggled finding a way to pay tribute to his memory. This year, I’ve decided to dedicate my marathon journey to raising funds for the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health. This incredible organization is committed to raising awareness, supporting research, and providing education about aortic diseases.

Aortic aneurysms, like the one that took my Dad’s life, often go undetected until it’s too late. By supporting the John Ritter Foundation, we can help save lives by funding vital research and spreading awareness about this silent killer.
