Connect & Empower the Paralysis Community
A nurse told my mother that a lady was there to see her at the hospital where I was being cared for after just sustaining a Spinal Cord Injury at 15 years of age. My mother told the nurse she didn’t want to speak with anyone at that time, until the nurse told her, “She wanted me to tell you that her son had a Spinal Cord Injury, too.” After a couple seconds of thought, my mother told the nurse to send her up.
10 years later, Jeanne Salvini and her son, Kenny Salvini, are amazing human beings that I will forever be grateful for knowing.
Kenny and his wife Claire helped start an amazing nonprofit organization called the “Here and Now Project,” which seeks to help connect and empower the paralysis community in the PNW. Through private support groups, community activities, and larger annual gatherings, the nonprofit has built a strong fellowship of people who encourage and inspire each other to Do Life in the here and now.
Please watch their story, and consider donating to this organization that has helped bring so much hope and support to those in need, including myself!
God bless,
Jacoby Miles
