About The Fabric Workshop and Museum

The Fabric Workshop and Museum (FWM) is an internationally acclaimed contemporary art museum devoted to creating and presenting innovative works of art. Our mission, "Collaborating with artists, revealing new possibilities," makes FWM a place where artists can pursue their wildest creative imaginings unfettered by expectations. Among the 400+ contemporary artists who have collaborated with us are some of the world's most recognized. As a result, FWM's collection of 5,000+ objects represents a veritable chronicle of contemporary artmaking. FWM's artists-in-residence (AIR) and resultant exhibition programs began concurrently with the organization's goal to train Philadelphia's youth in the industrial art of screenprinting, opening their minds and futures to art-based careers.
