April is Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month and I would LOVE it if all of my family and friends would join me in making a difference! My name is Brittany Christie and I am raising money to benefit The Color of Autism Foundation. Any donation will help make an impact! My goddaughter Autumn was diagnosed with Autism after a series of testing, theories and misdiagnosis'. It was frustrating for her parents but for me it piqued my interest due to the lack of information and confidence from medical professionals. This led me to seek possible answers from countless research articles/organizations and spread awareness. One organization that sparked my interest due to their mission is; The Color of Autism Foundation.
The Color of Autism Foundation is a Non-Profit organization committed to educating and assisting African American families with Autistic children. Autism affects children of every race, ethnic group and socioeconomic status. However, African-American children are frequently confronted with late diagnosis or misdiagnosis. The goal of The Color of Autism Foundation is to help families identify the signs of autism early on, connect families to services, provide resources and support to parents/caregivers of autistic individuals and to celebrate those individuals we advocate for!
