The Childrens Bridge of Zichron Menachem

Jerusalem 10k for Zichron Menachem (Zichron Menachem provides support for families of all religions and backgrounds in Israel who are under the age of 25 living with cancer, as well as parents and siblings of those diagnosed.)   For those of you who may not know, my brother in-law, Oriya Shohat, was diagnosed with a 9cm brain tumor in the center of his brain this past August. These past six months have been extremely trying for the whole family, particularly for my nieces and nephews. Oriya spent a huge amount of time in the hospital through dozens of doctors visits, treatment planning, multiple rounds of inpatient chemotherapy, neurosurgery, a meningitis curve ball, and radiation. While he spent months in the treatment process, my sister was at home trying to emotionally and physically support him as well as her 4 wonderful kids who were all responding to this challenge in their own ways.  Zichron Menachem, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children effected by cancer, came through for them in leaps and bounds in so many different ways. With their years of experience and expert knowledge in supporting children through these situations, my nieces and nephews received an incredible amount of individualized supportive and recreational services that help them process and manage the upheaval over the past 6 months. Watching these kids not just manage but thrive, grow, and achieve through this process was incredible. This was only due to the incredible diligence of my sister and amazing support provided by the staff at Zichron Menchem.  I am running the Jerusalem 10km race on March 9th and decided to dedicate my run to this amazing organization. I am deeply grateful for what they have done for my family.
