We are THE BLACK POSTER PROJECT, a non-profit 501c3 organization that was created from one family’s tragic loss of their son from an opioid/fentanyl overdose. From its start in 2019, we have grown to over 540 posters of lives lost through addiction.

The Black Poster Project is a “traveling” silent memorial used to RAISE AWARENESS AND EDUCATE children, adults, schools, and communities. Over 540 posters of loved ones tell a story of loss, family heartache and share the stark reality of how addiction ravages families. The Black Poster Project is in memory of all whose lives were lost through addiction and/or substance use disorder with the hope that we can eradicate this “other pandemic”. Posters of souls are added at the request of each family. No family is ever charged to have a poster made of their loved one.

Over 100,000 lives were lost to SUD in 2021 alone.

REPEAT: OVER 100,000 LIVES WERE LOST TO SUD IN 2021 ALONE.

We travel with this project into schools, communities, churches or anywhere people gather. These silent memorials require transportation, labor and much coordination all accomplished through 100% volunteerism.

It is my hope to fundraise to help defray the cost of a large 15 pass van to eliminate the out-of-pocket costs of cumulative van rentals for every event. Up to this point, most of the costs involved with the project have been self-funded. We want to take this project to the next level as it is bursting at the seams, and we need help to do this.

These posters tell a personal story of family loss, love, heartache, and hope. Every family in the project wants to ensure that another family does not have to go through this ultimate loss.
