Michael J. Hicks, AIA Legacy Scholarship
Michael J. Hicks, AIA, passed away on February 11th after a short but courageous battle against cancer. Throughout his nearly 50-year career he was active in his professional community serving on boards and committees and advocating for quality design and responsible development in Denver and Los Angeles. He was a powerful connector and believed that business development was a lifestyle, never a job.
In lieu of flowers, Michael's family requests that donations be made to a scholarship fund that has been set up in his name with the Architectural Education Foundation (AEF) to continue his legacy and support a University of Colorado (Michael's Alma mater) student working towards their Master's of Architecture.
The AEF offers traveling and professional development scholarships to support architectural educational endeavors.
You can donate here or send a check or money order directly to the AEF with Michael J. Hicks, AIA on the "For" line of your check. Donations are 100% tax deductible and all proceeds, minus transaction fees, will go directly to the scholarship fund.
