It was revolutionary – offering orphaned shelter animals for adoption in a retail environment instead of selling “puppy mill” puppies at a pet store. But that was the idea behind Operation Adopt when it opened 4 years ago. Many said it couldn’t be done. But YOU didn’t listen! Now, Operation Adopt’s model of adoption is LAW in the entire state of California!

Our mission is simple: To protect orphaned animals by inspiring people to adopt. But How? Operation Adopt is a Pet Adoption Center built on dedication, compassion and a lot of love and hard work to save shelter animals. Specifically selected orphaned animals are brought here where enthusiastic Staff and Volunteers can get to know these dogs and cats; provide medical attention and grooming; photograph them as unique individuals to make their first impression to potential adopters memorable; and help them find safe and loving homes where they have the best chance to excel given their age, size and personalities.

The animals selected aren’t just puppies and kittens, they are dogs and cats of all ages and sizes. We also help orphaned animals who require surgeries to make them adoptable – focusing on surgeries that have a high degree of success so that the animal can recover and lead a full life.

But that’s not all that happens at Operation Adopt. Teaching Future Generations about the special compassionate bond that is possible between Humans and Animals is a Priority. Kindness to Animals makes for a kinder world. Giving value to these animals who have been discarded restores their dignity. Educating potential adopters about how to be responsible pet owners helps keep unwanted pets out of shelters.
Operation Adopt is so much more than just a place to adopt an animal.
Without having a physical location in the community, none of what Operation Adopt accomplishes would be possible. There are so many expenses in caring for orphaned animals and providing a place for them to stay while giving them the best care possible.
For Operation Adopt’s 4th birthday, we need YOUR HELP. Help give these animals the security of a place to come and be SAFE by sponsoring Next Year’s Rent. Having this large expense covered would insure so many needy animals waiting at the shelter would have the opportunity to enjoy a life where they are cherished as a beloved member of the family.
