Help Incarcerated Mothers Send Their Kids Back to School with Love
The Alliance for Incarcerated Women (AIW) is a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting incarcerated women and their families through medical advocacy, pro bono legal support, and family reunification programming. We believe in dignity, connection, and second chances and we work every day to ensure that women behind bars are not forgotten.
This fall, we’re launching a deeply meaningful initiative: giving incarcerated mothers the chance to prepare back-to-school kits for their children.
Most mothers in prison are separated from their children - not just physically, but emotionally and practically. They miss milestones. They miss moments. But this August, we’re changing that.
Thanks to a partnership with select women’s facilities across the United States, AIW is creating a way for moms to go “school shopping” inside. With your help, women will receive donated supplies and back-to-school kits for their kids - just in time for fall. These kits will be picked up during family visits, giving children something special from their mom’s hands.
