Teen Feed June Fundraiser
Every day, Teen Feed offers home-cooked meals, essential supplies, and support to youth experiencing homelessness in Seattle. The youth we serve are majority BIPOC and face increased health risks, so continuing these services has become even more urgent in this time of social unrest and amidst a global pandemic.
Help Teen Feed raise $20,000 this June so we can continue to provide fresh, nutritious food; essentials like bottled water, sunscreen, and ID cards; and critical case management resources. Make your donation go twice as far! We are excited to announce that Swansons Nursery in Ballard will be matching the first $5,000 contributed.
Despite COVID-19, Teen Feed has continued to serve young people in Seattle who are maneuvering the many challenges of homelessness. From a warm meal every single evening to a stick of deodorant to new clothes for a job interview, our staff and volunteers continue to do amazing work to support our young guests with whatever they need as they begin to shape their future off the streets. We have had to do it differently this past year - we have shifted to a to-go model instead of a sit-down dinner (it is hard to not be able to offer a respite from the rain), we have gone out on the streets to bring essentials to youth where they are, we have ensured freshly-grown produce for our meals through supportive partnerships with local farms like 21 Acres. Most importantly, we have remained nimble throughout the many changes the pandemic has brought.
We, like so many, look forward to building back better. In the meantime, we ask that you consider supporting our work with a contribution. Even as little as $30 provides a healthy, nutritious meal to 6 young people, plus vital connections they need.
· $100 provides a young person with a week of meals, shelter, a mailing address, and a WA State Identification card.
· $500 provides access to meals and basic need items for 50-80 young people.
· $1,500 provides 6 months of one-on-one support coordination for a young person transitioning off the streets.
· $5,000 Provides 500 meals, enough to cover one full week of meal program for homeless and at-risk young people.
Thank you for your generous support!
More about Teen Feed: Since 1987, Teen Feed has been dedicated to creating an overwhelmingly rich and supportive local community providing resources to homeless youth and young adults (YYA) ages 13-25. We meet them where they are as they meet their futures off the streets. As the only threshold service agency of its kind in the University District and South King County, we offer basic needs, build strong relationships, and ally with homeless youth. We often create the first opportunity to trust and gain access to essential services that could change the course of their lives.
