Take This is a mental health nonprofit decreasing stigma and increasing support for mental health in games.

For many years I have volunteered with Take This, Inc., a mental health nonprofit, focused on the game development, and gamer communities. Take This’ mission is to decrease the stigma, and increase the support for, mental health in the game enthusiast community, and inside the game industry. Take This provides comprehensive resources, support, and consultation, tailored for the needs of these communities.

Because Take This’ mission means so much to me, I recently accepted an offer to join Take This’ Board of Directors. It is in this capacity that I am reaching out to you, to help me support Take This’ important mission. Your donations to Take This will support the following activities:

Game Industry Mental Health Standards & Support - Take This partners with industry leaders and mental health professionals and researchers to examine industry practices, effects, and impacts, and to develop research, action plans, and industry-wide standards regarding mental wellness.

Ambassador Program – Take This’ Streaming Ambassadors serve as frontline advocates in the fight against stigma, hopelessness, and isolation, and help the game industry build supportive, inclusive streaming communities, that are free of stigma and bias.

Advocacy and Social Action – Take This offers resources for engaging the game development community, in mental health advocacy and social action. Reducing bias, hate, and elevating the status of under-represented people in games and the games community, is a primary goal.

AFK Rooms - are professionally-staffed, relaxed spaces, at games conventions and expos, that provide education, resources, and a listening ear to convention attendees in the US, and abroad.
