T-Rex 4935 is a community-based high school competitive robotics team that focuses on the advancement of STEAM and providing opportunities for students in the Charlotte, NC area. T-Rex is a student-led FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition) team that prepares students for higher education and the job market by teaching soft skills, public speaking and more. Industry professionals donate their time and expertise to help our students become amazing adults who can also build amazing robots.

**Update!!**

Your robotics team T-Rex displayed amazing resilience and tenacity over our two district competitions at UNC Ashville and Mecklenburg County to secure an invitation to the FIRST robotics North Carolina district championship at East Carolina University! We were ranked 6th out of the 29 teams at the UNC Asheville event and ended up leading the #4 alliance through the round of eight. Unfortunately, one of our alliance-mates suffered catastrophic damage during a critical match and we were eliminated in the quarter-finals. Yesterday at the Mecklenburg County district event we ended up ranked 6th for a second time and ended up on the #4 alliance again. We were able to make it into the semifinal round only to be eliminated by the #2 alliance which eventually went on to win it all. The team was able to solidify our invitation to the district championship by also winning the innovation in controls award for the work they did in designing and building a specialized control system for our robot. With the additional district points awarded at the Mecklenburg County event, we are currently ranked 17th out of the 89 teams in North Carolina! We have had a very good year!

We are approximately $8000 short in funding to be able to pay for our tournament registration fees and lodging for the team in Greenville, SC. Any amount will help us and thank you so much in advance for your continued support!
