Sullivan County SPCA

The Sullivan County Animal Shelter is a private non-profit SPCA located in Rock Hill, NY. We are a 501(c)3, no-kill animal shelter providing a safe haven for dogs and cats, local and across the country, in need of rescuing and rehoming. We are NOT affiliated with the ASPCA, nor do we receive state or government funding, so private donations are vital! We rely solely on donations from our community and supporters! Your generous donation will help us keep our doors open and continue to be able to rescue and rehome countless furry friends. We desperately need your help to keep our shelter running. *Why We Need Monthly Funding:

- Spay/Neuter Surgeries: Prevent unwanted litters and reduce pet overpopulation and risk of cancer

- Vaccinations: Protect our animals from deadly diseases

- Food and Supplies: Provide nutritious food, comfortable bedding and shelter, and essential care and enrichment for each animal daily

- Utilities and Maintenance: Keep our shelter warm, lit, and running smoothly

- Operational Costs: Facility and property maintenance, administrative costs and insurance, staffing, animal transport and gas

- Veterinary Care: Medical attention to treat illnesses, injuries, and provide emergency care

- $50: Helps cover deworming and monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention for one animal

‼️PLEASE HELP: WALLY DESPERATELY NEEDS YOU‼️

We got an unexpected arrival today in bad shape. This poor, sweet boy, now named Wally, was brought in this morning after he was recently attacked by another dog he was living with. Kept outside his whole life, the “owner” gave us no option but to take him or he would be put to sleep, even though he was not the attacker. Wally has never known love. That all changes today. With your help, we can get Wally the medical attention he desperately needs. As you can see from the pictures, the wound near his eye is infected and needs immediate medical attention‼️ Wally has been neglected his entire life. Callused elbows and rear end from sleeping outside his whole life tell us he wasn’t given the basic needs that every pet deserves. Despite everything he has endured, he is super loving and gentle and overall an absolute mush! We know he has the potential to be an amazing companion and pet to someone. Please help us save Zuko by donating towards his heartworm treatment!!!

Zuko came to us as a stray after being found with another Husky in Forestburgh, NY. Unfortunately, no one has stepped up to claim them. We got some rough news about Zuko that he is heartworm positive. He is a super sweet boy who deserves a shot! Without donations like yours, animals like Zuko would not have a chance at living a happy, healthy life. Thank you for your kind generosity towards our animals in need!

Zuko is a young adult neutered Husky, UTD on vaccines, and microchipped. He will still be looking for his furever home during treatment, so please submit an application if you're interested in adopting or fostering Zuko at sullivanspca.org/adopt.

Tilly is an adorable 4-month-old Bulldog mix who was found outside of a trailer with her two sisters. On 3/4/25, Tilly went in for bilateral Entropion surgery. When our rescue partners in TN reached out to us about taking Tilly and her two sisters, we immediately said yes. The first picture we got of Tilly was of her squinting with the caption “Tilly Eye Issue.” Just based on the picture, we expected it was Entropion—a condition where the eyelid rolls inward, causing the eyelashes and other debris to rub against the cornea. This can cause permanent damage to the eye if left untreated. We thought, “Do we have the money for this surgery? Not at all. Are we still going to help her? Yes!”

As soon as the vet confirmed it was Entropion, we had the surgery done ASAP. This surgery was imperative, as it drastically improved Tilly’s quality of life and prevented any further damage to her eyes. She was immediately placed in a loving medical foster, where she will be for the next two weeks to recover peacefully out of the shelter. She is healing well and getting along great with her foster siblings!

The invoice for Tilly’s surgery came to $514.10 for bilateral Entropion surgery. As a non-profit, we are not state-funded and we rely solely on donations from our community to help animals like Tilly. Please consider donating to help offset the cost of Tilly’s eye surgery. 13 years ago, my family adopted Delilah from the Sullivan County SPCA. Delilah provided us 13 years of love and joy. Unfortunately she had to be put to rest on January 15th, 2025 due to age related complications. She was a great dog and will be missed immensely by myself and my entire family.

I wanted to donate to the Sullivan County SPCA in Delilah's honor, so that more families will have the opportunity to have a rescue pet of their own in the future!
