My name is Mac and I am 15 years old. For the most part, my life has been filled with good fortunes thanks to my family, friends, and people like you. It is because of these good fortunes and my desire to pay it forward that I will be running in the Fairfield Police Sunset Run on Wed July 21, 2021 in Fairfield, CT to raise funds for One Mind. One Mind is a mental health non-profit that provides the hope and services needed for the millions of youth who have seen their mental health worsen as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pandemic has caused a significant uptick in the already high rates of anxiety, depression, and even suicidal thoughts our youth face. With a program portfolio that focuses on advancing the science, services, and society, I am excited to support One Mind and their mission to accelerate collaborative research and advocacy to enable all individuals facing brain health challenges to build healthy, productive lives.

The training my dad and I will do from now until the run on July 21st will improve our physical and mental health. By supporting our efforts and our fundraising campaign for One Mind, your donation will help us to improve the mental health of others.

I'm Matt Seebeck, the Sr. Vice Commander of VFW Post 603 in Norwalk, CT.  Veterans are losing their lives at an alarming rate and in spite of an increasing standard of care at the VA, treatment for TBI and PTSD cannot keep pace with the injuries our brothers and sisters in uniform sustain. 

The Veterans of Foreign Wars supports One Mind - and organization dedicated to researching advanced treatments for these injuries. 

I'm saddened each day I hear of a fellow veteran who's lost their battle.  So, in June, we're gonna get it up and get it on and ruck from Noroton Heights to Westport by way of the Shea-Magrath Memorial in Norwalk in hopes of raising awareness that even in SW CT, you have Veterans amongst your friends and neighbors.
