Running for Street Level Health Project!
On Sunday March 23rd, a group of staff and volunteers will run in the Oakland Running Festival to raise funds for Street Level, an Oakland based grassroots organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of immigrants in the Bay Area.
Our team is composed of 14 committed and enthusiastic individuals. Our roles as staff and volunteers have given us the opportunity to witness the genuine work and care that happens at Street Level. For many of us this will be our first time running a race, yet knowing that we're supporting a great cause will help us make it to the finish line!
We ask that you join us in supporting Street Level's work. Our goal is to raise $1,200 in celebration of Street Level's twelve years of commitment and service to the uninsured and underinsured immigrant community.
Your gift will go directly to the following services & programs:
-Food Pantry: proving healthy and nutritious food bags to low-income and homeless families
-Breakfast & Lunch Program: providing warm breakfast to workers on the street and lunch plates to community members
-Health Navigation: assisting clients in navigating health and social systems to find resources that meet their needs
-Oakland Workers' Collective: worker-led group committed to improving worker rights, safety, and health
-Health Access & Wellness programs: including drop-in health screenings, mental health services, and herbal consultations for day laborers, uninsured individuals, and people otherwise unable to access health services
