At An Tobar Nua, so much happens around a cup of coffee. Relationships are built, lives are changed, joy is sparked through hospitality. Not only do the drinks we make on our espresso machine help create the legendary hospitality that we are known for throughout Galway City, but they also help support all the different branches of our own charitable mission: including wellbeing retreats in secondary schools, and the counseling center among others. Proceeds from our hot chocolate have even helped support other charitable organizations! Throughout the years, we helped build a well in South Sudan, raise funds for an orphanage in India, and paid for Christmas dinner for people living in a local Galway shelter.

Serving coffee (among other things) is the center of what we have done for over 25 years now. Right now, we have an amazing opportunity to build a new connection in the community, by sourcing our coffee beans from an Irish coffee roaster with its own dedicated base of customers. This means that we're expecting our new coffee to bring in more people who love coffee, especially since we'll be the exclusive location for this roaster in the West End! But we are realizing that while our new coffee beans will be top notch, our current espresso machine is sadly outdated for the quantity and types of coffees we make, and is beginning to need expensive repairs. As we upgrade our coffee beans, we also want to update our machine to a piece of equipment that will stand the test of time better, and deliver the quality that our community and new coffee beans deserve.

But we need your help! We weren't planning for this purchase right now, but we're getting an amazing deal and avoiding costly repairs to our current machine. With a special discount from the vendor, the new espresso machine to match our new coffee beans is $10,000. Amazingly, we have a grantor that has agreed to match donations, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000! So any amount that you donate will be DOUBLED. Can you help us reach $5,000 in donations?!
