Marathon Fundraiser for Steel Magnolia Moms
Hi,
I'm Lena and I will be running my first Half-Marathon in January 2021 to raise money for Steel Magnolia Moms, a non-profit organization for moms with special needs children.
Steel Magnolia Moms focuses on the emotional support, wellbeing, and mental health of those moms who work 24/7 and daily give 200% to balance their work and home life and meet the special needs of their children. Although they are still fairly young, I've already seen so much good come from this amazing organization. Steel Magnolia Moms is a safe haven for every mom who feels isolated, not understood, or overwhelmed. Empowerment workshops, speaker series, retreats, and social events offer Steel Magnolia Moms a platform to openly share their stories, exchange experiences, breathe, reset, and build a net of security and support.
As I lived with and worked as a caregiver and PT for a family with two special needs children for several years, I've seen and experienced first hand just how important it is for those moms to have this safe place in order to stay healthy and able to give their children and families what they need.
