St. Louis Area Foodbank

Food banks across the country are struggling as they cope with an increase in demand due to job loss caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Here at home, the St. Louis Area Foodbank has seen a 30 percent increase in need at the food pantries it helps. Radius Realty wants to support our community during this challenging time by raising $5000 to pay for 40,000 meals, which the St. Louis Area Foodbank can distribute to our most vulnerable neighbors who are struggling with food insecurity. Any donation will help make an impact, strengthen our community and provide hope in uncertain times. Thank you in advance for your contribution!

Does anyone feel like they're wondering when we're going to wake up? Across the St. Louis metropolitan region, it seems like moms and families are scrambling to find our new normal and some sort of rhythm. 

St. Louis Moms Blog is excited to partner with Kelli Morrell photography to take five minute ‘Front Steps Portraits” of St. Louis residents.  After your quick session, Kelli will email you the digital file of your portrait.  In exchange, we are asking you to make a good faith donation to the St. Louis Food Pantry through this GoFundMe Campaign.

We will be posting these images on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #thefrontstepsproject.  Please share these posts. Let’s spread the word!

Kelli will be taking images outside ONLY and from at least 10 feet away. Your session will be brief, likely just 5 minutes. This is not a typical get-dressed-up-and-pose-for-the-photographer session. Want to stand outside in your pajamas and slippers? Sounds good. Kids in mismatched clothes but you’re thrilled they got dressed? Fantastic. Wearing your bike gear because you’re headed off to ride a trail in the nice weather? Love it!  Be you.

On the weekend of May 2nd I will run around my neighborhood, 4.167 miles in an hour, every hour, for at least 24 hours. That's 100 miles in 1 day!

I'm hoping to raise funds to support the St. Louis Area Food Bank (a Charity Navigator 4-star non-profit). The Coronavirus has impacted all of us, but now and in the coming months the most vulnerable in our community will need to rely on nutritional assistance more than ever before. So please join me and help make an impact! $25 = 100 meals. Thanks in advance for your contribution.

Tentative start time is 6PM on Friday, May 1st. I'll post an official start time as the date approaches.
I will follow all local social distancing guidelines by maintaining a safe distance and wearing a face covering near others.
If it gets too crowded during the day, I may throw an audible and run elsewhere, or on a treadmill.
Sponsor an hour of running with a $150 donation. Make me do something ridiculous during that hour -- drink only milk, complete 50 burpees, run a mile backwards -- the choice is yours. Just leave a comment and if it isn't impossible, I'll try and give it a go.

Feel free to join in on the "fun" in any way you feel comfortable if you live in Windsor Acres, or virtually if you live elsewhere.

For our fall philanthropy this year, AEPi Sigma is hosting our first inaugural Thanksgiving Throwdown. We are fundraising for the St Louis Area FoodBank, one of the largest non-profits in St Louis. 

Every year the FoodBank helps provide over 400,000 members of the St Louis community free meals. Each dollar we raise provides four meals for underserved people.
