Hello, my name is Natalie Tran, co-founder of Journey Foundation, a student run non-profit organization aiming to use music to benefit the community and break barriers in music education. Using our musical skills for good through teaching and performance, we believe that all communities should have equal access services, such as education and healthcare, regardless of their financial situation.
Unaffordable healthcare is a rampant and increasingly devastating issue for many low-income or uninsured individuals. With many crucial health services out of reach due to the exorbitant costs, countless people are forced to choose between their well-being and financial survival. Simple, necessary procedures are often delayed or entirely neglected because of the fear of insurmountable medical bills. The impact of this issue is especially felt in underserved communities, where access to quality healthcare is already limited.
We have found that the Lestonnac Free Clinic is one of the only clinics providing free healthcare to low income or uninsured residents of Southern California. Offering various medical, dental, and vision services, including simple, yet life altering surgical procedures, they have impacted the lives of many people in need. However, their procedures are limited to one day a month in their partnership with the ALAPIO at the Beverly Hills Surgery Center.
Currently, the Lestonnac Free Clinic is raising funds to build a new surgery center, which would allow them to impact more lives with a wider set of procedures, as well as full time access.
Using our music, we will perform to raise donations for the surgery center, including at the Lestonnac Free Clinic's annual Acta Non Verba Gala. We have seen firsthand how music has the power to bring people together, inspire action, and create change. Now, we are calling on our community to join us in using this power to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Whether you donate, share our campaign, or spread the word, your support will play a crucial role in helping us reach our goal and make healthcare more accessible to those who need it.
Every dollar raised will go directly towards the construction of the new surgical center at Lestonnac Free Clinic. Together, we can help build a future where healthcare is not a privilege for the few but a right for all.
Thank you!
