This is Nilla. Like Nilla Wafers (SMILE) He was Dumped in a NYC Park. He would not live. He is a domesticated - Human fed rabbit. They do not just Live in the Wild when dumped in a park. A lot of people think they will be fine... They will not. They die in the wild. This little guy did Nothing Wrong. He was brought to a home and later dropped off in a park to die. We saw his picture - a good person posted this little guys picture and location and they probably knew this baby would die in a week or so. Regina went to the location with the equipment on a Sunday afternoon and brought this fella to the house. We rescue dogs and some cats so we had to do a quick radical plan to keep him safe and comfortable in the house. Hours later - all good safe and sound. She went to PetCo and bought rabbit stuff.... we kept him quarantined and out of dog and cats way for days as Regina made the calls and texts to find a suitable home. We got there. We have an Amazing Loving home for this lil fella. We found a vet to do the right thing at a discount - some call it a Good Samaritan Discount. All Good. We are looking at around 500-800 to get this bunny right - blood work - fixed - sustainable in a home and safe. If you would like to help out... THANK YOU !! Today we were told a dog might go to the NYC Animal Care and Control (the dog pound) and likely be - put down - because the Police Precinct did not have a functional Pet Microchip scanner. Not A Good Reason to take a dog to a Kill Shelter At All!

We take many dogs to get scanned in New York City.

Police Officers are not all up to date on how the equipment works - We Get That ! No Worries... They have other things to do.

Equipment needs charging.. and sometimes do not work .. We Get That! We Do.

To let a dog go to a Kill Shelter because we do not have a scanner is Not Acceptable. We spoke to the Best company for the appropriate scanner which is at least $250 with Non-Profit discount.

EDIT: Snowy is failing. she's not eating... been to the vet.. tried everything..

Edit 5 May 2024 Snowy is getting a lot of vet care. She has developed complications and I change her bandages daily. She requires a lot of towel baths as she cannot poop on a pad and usually has fur troubles. We have wheels for her and she gets outside. She is unable to move around and bites when moved at times. I have a few scars lol We will continue to vet her and make sure she is clean, fed and watered. She is a Darling Dog. Donations buy her diapers. pads, special digestive food (very costly) and vet visits. She deserves love and life as to be clean and healthy. Awesome Pup!!!

Meet Snowy - formally known as Snowball I don't call her Snowball... she can't walk She is not a ball... She is a Darling dog. Love this girl!!! She came to us because her owner was going to put her in a kill shelter. Another rescue took her on but found out she could not walk which was not compatible with her dog situation. I totally get that. Snowy would have been in a bad place so we took her. The other rescue tried to make it work and lucky for us ... we got her in our lives. She lives upstairs with me. Lots of love here. She gets sponge baths.. and hand fed when needed.. She Loves to be pet and will come to you .. front legs moving and back legs dragging.. ... Someone donated some wheels so we can take her outside and I think she likes the feeling on not dragging her legs. She eats good.. had meatballs from the Best Pizzeria - Gino's of West Hempstead - she went to the vet for a leg problem. A growth popped in my hands the other morning before work. Blood. Doc took care of her and we have to change the bandages every day. NO problem. I will make the time. Vet bill and bandages has run over $500. Snowy had another Vet appointment. The medicine and bandage changes are working. We bought her more bandages and change every day. We bought diapers for her as she is not able to move much. She gets love and eats and drinks. I sit with her a lot and she is just a sweetheart. we are not out of the woods but what we are doing is working to heal this Sweet lady !!!

A sad story... this guy was named Chewy. I kinda call him Charlie ) He loves to sit on my lap and lick my arms. He is a love bug. We had no idea about him just took him in because he had no place to go and the kill shelters.. the pound.. would have taken his life. He would have been dead. Charlie / Chewie is Safe and Sound!!! We need to vet him and get him up to weight. He needs a vet visit... that will be a few hundred His last owner was an old guy who passed.. Charlie is VERY underweight... we got this.. just more food .. good food.. and more good food!!! We are looking for vet bills from the loving community and a bit to get him up to weight, If you can help .. THANKS!! it ALL goes to the dogs,. today.. Charlie.. He is Awesome.. I cut off pounds of matted hair.. he is feeling a lot better. He is interacting with other dogs.. I think he was lonely.. he wags his tail and loves to be loved on ) I will make time for Charlie Chewie
