Joe Spencer, an amazing man, father, husband, friend and true legacy.

 

Not only did his presence fill a room...he was the main attraction. He shined amongst his family and friends when he took center stage and emulated pure joy. His talent was astounding, and his wisdom undeniable. The theatre community has suffered a great loss with his passing. He continues to be a shining light from above for many theatre communities, and his memory will never fade. A theatre space needs an identity, and personally we could not think of a better way to honor this incredibly generous man than to name this theatre after him. His passion for the arts and generosity will be remembered and cherished by all.

 

In July of 2022, Spotlight Arts Collective will be taking possession of a new facility in Manhattan, IL, for productions, events, rehearsals and workshops. We, the friends of Joe Spencer, are looking to raise the funds necessary to purchase the naming rights package for the new studio. The "Joe Spencer Studio for the Arts" would recognize our friend in a way that will honor his memory and legacy as an avid supporter and participant of the arts. We love Joe, and he was taken way too soon. Please help us honor his memory.

 

The Studio will have signage outside and inside honoring Joe, and we will be able to celebrate Joe with the new signage and naming of the facility at a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony this fall.
