
Black Mesa Caravan Fundraiser
Our first caravan is has set out on Monday, January 11th! We are now planning on several more loads of supplies thanks to our amazing community support!!
Your donations will cover:
Gas and other travel expenses
COVID-19 PPE Supplies
Gift cards for Elders needing financial aid
Nonperishable food
Purchasing other needed supplies based off wishlists provided
Multivitamins and other immune boosters
Food-grade water containers
All donations made through Spirit of the Sun, so that tax-deductible receipts can be provided, all funds raised will be redistributed back to the community and applied to our caravan efforts.
The Black Mesa Colorado Caravan (BMCC) is the Denver area based group of grassroots, multi-racial, indigenous and non-native, intergenerational volunteers and activists who work in conjunction with Black Mesa Indigenous Support (BMIS) to support the indigenous peoples of Black Mesa, Arizona in their struggle for Life and Land; a people who are targeted by & resist an injustice of large-scale coal mining operations and forced relocation policies of the US government.
More information about Spirit of the Sun: For over a decade, we have partnered with Native American communities across the nation to develop new opportunities for tribes and Native American individuals. Our mission is to work with Native Communities in Urban areas and reservations to boost the resilience of Native people, especially youth and young adults. Our vision is that the Native youth of today become the next generation of Native leaders, entrepreneurs, and skilled professionals.
