Special Olympics Washington

On April 28, 2021,  I am taking the challenge to complete 100 holes of golf at High Cedars GC (Executive Course), raising money to benefit Special Olympics Washington.

My brother Matthew Berschauer who passed away this past year was an active athlete with Special Olympics Washington. For many years I would travel with him and cheer him on in all the sports he participated in. Matthew was a Special Olympics athlete; taking his role very seriously. He was a powerlifter for
the Tumwater Valley Power Dragons in addition to competing in baseball and basketball. He loved his coaches and always wanted to be “Coach Matthew.” I dearly miss him and find this to be my calling to give back to the organization that was so close to him for his entire life.

People are amazing and never cease to amaze me with their deep care and compassion for others. 

When I asked friends and family to donate to SKIP for Jayla's 1st birthday, I was blown away by the support and financial donations totaling more that $4,500 that were made to support the amazing therapy program for kids with special needs.  Seeing everyone who showed up to run/walk the 5K to celebrate her birthday made my heart skip a few beats. 

This year, as she turns the 5, we are partnering with Special Olympics Washington.  They will be coming to Lake Wilderness Elementary School on April 14th to run an obstacle course for the entire Preschool Program.  As April is a busy month for them with events and Jayla's Birthday falling on a day where they are booked with Soccer events, they are unable to host an obstacle course on her birthday.

South Sound Swim School and Camp Berachah will be donating the pool and lifeguards in an effort to support Special Olympics on Jayla's 5th birthday.

Please join us to support the super awesome coaches and staff that support some super awesome atheletes, by making a financial donation here or sign up to come swim for an hour and enjoy some cake!

We will have the pool at Camp Berachah open for two one-hour sessions on Saturday, April 11th.   First session is 10:00am -11:00am  and the second session is 11:00am-12:00 pm.  Space is limited to the first 50 per session.
