Students at Sense are fun, motivated, creative learners. The kids, grades K-8, are excellent at technology, as they begin computer education in kindergarten and continue through 8th grade. With computers in their hands they are fantastically capable learners.

The COVID issue is very much a problem of supply. I'm confident that the kids at Sense will learn successfully, but they need computers to do so. Before COVID we were not 1-1 for computers, so students were unable to take computers home to learn remotely. In March when school was suspended we were unable to reach many of our students at all. In our first round of distance learning our engagement was low due to lack of internet access. Students that were able to connect were restricted by data caps or device availability. Many families were sharing a parents cell phone or even trying to connect over X-Box. Not the best environment for learning!

We want to fix this problem of equity. These kids deserve to have an equal opportunity at a fair education. Lack of access to computers and internet should not be the deciding factor in a child's education.

We are seeking 100 Chrome devices to help connect our most disadvantaged students with their teachers. These devices feature webcams, wifi, and all the tools our students need to connect with the school and their classmates. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support!
