As concerned parents we are starting a GoFundMe account to raise the $7000 necessary to install Vape detectors in all Kihei Charter bathrooms. As you may know Kihei Charter does an excellent job with video monitoring to keep our kids safe and responsible in all areas of the school, but they have no tools to help keep our kids safe from vaping in the bathrooms. There are some vape detection systems now available that will not only detect minute amounts of chemicals as they are released from vaping but will also immediately notify the school when active vaping is occurring in the bathrooms so action can be taken. Vaping is an epidemic in schools today and I know we are all concerned with our children’s safety. An anonymous donor has agreed to donate a matching amount of all GoFundMe donations towards the $7000 needed, so if we can raise $3500 of the $7000, the other $3500 will be donated. Please help Kihei Charter keep our kids safe.
