South Essex Firefighters Foundation

In the wake and aftermath of the recent Hurricane Helene, many communities in Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina are facing significant challenges and are in urgent need of support. Many families have lost their homes, businesses and infrastructure have been damaged, and vital resources are scarce. The South Essex Firefighters Foundation is launching this GoFundMe to raise funds to purchase vital resources and essential supplies such as food, water, clothing, hygiene products, medical supplies, and more to be delivered to the communities in need.

Your contributions will directly impact communities, families and individuals who have lost so much. There are many towns and communities starting to receive aid in the Greater Asheville area, however there are still a signigicant amount of small communities still not receiving any aid. The South Essex Firefighters Foundation has been in direct contact with several churches of small towns that have been devastated in the Eastern Tennessee / Western North Carolina area to coordinate delivery and distribution of these supplies and resources.

The South Essex Fire Department has several members deployed with NJ Task Force 1, who have been assisting with search and rescue operations in the Asheville / Western North Carolina Region for over a week since the hurricane has hit. In brief communications with our members, they have confirmed that the devastation is much worse than reported and much more wide spread than anyone can imagine or have anticipated.
