Eric Baldwin Eagle Project for Soule Homestead
Hi, my name is Eric Baldwin. I am a Boy Scout with Troop 64 in Middleboro and currently working on my Eagle Project. For my project, I am building an 18’ x 36’ park pavilion at the Soule Homestead Education Center in Middleboro. The pavilion will provide an outdoor classroom for the children’s programs at the Homestead as well as a place for picnics and outdoor concerts.
As a child, I spent many school vacations and summers participating in the children's programs at the Soule Homestead. When it came time to choose my project I wanted to give back to this fantastic program that I enjoyed so much. I wanted to provide a lasting space that would allow kids for years to come to be able to get an even better experience than I did.
The mission of the Soule Homestead Education Center is to support and maintain a community-based nonprofit education center for the benefit of area schools and the general public while preserving and enhancing the historic Soule Homestead. Hands-on learning opportunities include environmental programs, organic farming activities, traditional crafts, and cultural events.
The money I am raising will go toward the materials needed to build the pavilion. Any money received in excess of what is needed to build the pavilion will go to the Homestead and be kept in an account to help maintain the pavilion for years to come. Any donation large or small is greatly appreciated as every little bit helps.
Pouring concrete for the footings.
Clearing rocks from the worksite.
