Quarantine support for Robert in Lima!
Hi friends and family,
Robert and a team of medical volunteers are quarantined in Lima for at least the next 15 days.
They are living with and caring for the 70 refugees from Venezuela and the women who have moved from Cusco.
So far, everyone is safe and healthy, but the circumstances in Peru are declining quickly. The police and military are strictly patrolling the streets. Over 500 people were arrested in Lima yesterday for walking the streets without proper paperwork. People can only leave to buy food or seek medical care.
Cases of the virus have increased by 45% in the neighborhood where they are living, and grocery prices are skyrocketing.
I talked to Robert last night and asked him how people here can support him. He said, "Honestly, we could use more funds to keep feeding and housing the all the people. Most of the people in our program here can't work right now, so money for food, hygiene supplies, and diapers/formula would help a ton!"
If you can give anything at all, it would be greatly appreciated. I'll keep you posted here on how things are going on the ground there.
