Dear Soleng Tom Families,

First of all, let us say: Thank you. Thank you for your tireless support of your child and our school community. Through virtual learning, Dragon Dinner nights, parent-teacher meetings and everything else that has happened in the last school year, you have shown your commitment to giving your child the best possible education. As we partner with you here at Soleng Tom, we want you to know that your commitment does not go unnoticed. We are proud to be Dragons. 

With so much uncertainty and concern surrounding the recent novel coronavirus, it’s easy to feel helpless—but there is something we can all do to help our school and students. We have all missed all of our traditional events such as Grandparents Luncheon, Spell A Thon, Fall Festival and many more this year. Soleng Tom Elementary PTSA is asking for donations to replenish our budget due to lack of events and our traditional fundraiser Spell-A-Thon this year.

All businesses who contribute at least $200 will be recognized in our monthly newsletters for the new school year. Any family who contributes at least $100 will be recognized in our September edition.

Soleng Tom's playground shade structures gifted by the PTSA 15 years ago were damaged during the summer monsoons. The company who installed them is no longer in business, and their replacement is not covered TUSD’s insurance deductible. Our kids, teachers, and staff need shade!

The current PTSA is reaching out to Soleng Tom Families to help offset the cost to replace the fabric that was torn. The best estimate we received was just under $8000. Unfortunately, the PTSA Budget cannot support this type of expenditure. The money we raise during our one-and-only fundraiser, The Spell-a-Thon, pays for many other items. Rest assured, the Spell-a-Thon will still take place in January!

All donations are tax deductible! All businesses who contribute at least $100 will be recognized in our monthly newsletters for the duration of the year. Any family who contributes at least $25 will be recognized in our September edition.
