Riley King is fundraising
RUN FOR RELIEF
My name is Riley King and I am a rising senior at John Burroughs School. My friend Madeline Dornfeld and I have played sports together at John Burroughs since middle school. When our spring sports seasons (lacrosse and soccer) were cancelled due to Covid-19, we found ourselves running more than normal to pass the time during quarantine.
A few months ago, some local teenagers posted about how at their school, they were running a mile at the top of every hour for 26 hours and asking for donations. Madeline and I thought this would be a wonderful idea to bring to JBS to help unite the community and benefit a charity during this exceptionally hard time.
Madeline and I decided to donate to Slice Out Hunger Inc. but more specifically their program called, Pizza vs Pandemic which helps feed health care workers. Any donation will help make an impact and support healthcare workers during this time. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
We also invite anyone that is interested to join us on our run! We plan to start at 8 a.m. on June 20th and finish our last mile at 10 a.m. on June 21.
