Sisters of Solace

Sisters of Solace is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation founded for the sole purpose of offering hope and healing to women in crisis by providing short term shelter.

SOS is in the process of converting this convent into a home where women can get off the streets and experience our commitment to justice and dignity.  Our ladies will be surrounded by grace-filled relationships in our safe, secure and peaceful environment.

There is no denying the desperate and urgent need in our community for this kind of safe place for homeless women to find solace and begin to chart a course toward stability with the help of new friends.

The SOS Board of Directors is so passionate and committed to this home that we are all personally and financially invested, having already met our facility operations and administrative budget for this year.   We're currently raising the funds to purchase and renovate the building.

100% of the funds raised through our gofundme campaign will be applied to supporting the women staying with us - direct care staff and items they'll need for their transition plan.  Our projected opening date is November 2019 and our staffing budget for November 2019 through December 2020 is approximately $100,000.  You can be part of making this vision a reality with your tax-deductible contribution.  Support SOS and the vulnerable women in St. Joseph Missouri!
