SIREN/Eaton Shelter

SIREN/Eaton Shelter has been serving families experiencing either domestic violence or homelessness since 1994 in Eaton County. Now, WE NEED YOUR HELP!! While conducting routine audits, we discovered that we have been the victim of theft.

We are working diligently with the Attorney General’s Office to investigate and bring the person responsible to justice. I’m the meantime, our funding is limited and we are at risk of having to close our doors and end the supportive services that the most vulnerable in our community have grown to rely upon. At this time, we are asking you, the community, to help us to overcome this obstacle.

Our immediate goal is to make sure that none of our clients or community members lose access to the services SIREN provides or have any interruption in services. The services at risk include our housing and rental assistance programs, emergency shelter programs, food assistance services, distribution of personal hygiene/care items, laundry vouchers, public transportation tokens, and personal support services.

At this time, the only avenue that we have that will afford us the ability to continue our current programming without interruption is to sell Opportunity House, our Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter site. This poses a great risk to the future of SIREN and the clients we serve ( of whom 65-75% are children) In order to save Opportunity House, we need to raise $300,000.00.
