Hi, this is Susan Winslow with Simply Clefts Rescue.

On May 1st, we were asked to take 5 cleft lip and palate Boxers that were littermates. Two of those puppies passed away as newborns. The third puppy, Forest, was diagnosed with kidney failure and was suffering. We made the difficult decision to euthanize him at 6 weeks old.

Fred and Frank are the remaining 2 puppies from the litter. This week, they saw our vet and they were both diagnosed with severe heart murmurs. We also had complete bloodwork done to rule out any kidney issues. Their bloodwork came back showing nothing significant. Our vet recommended we schedule echocardiograms.

We have appointments for these on July 5th at Central Florida Veterinary Cardiology. Our estimate just for the echos is $1710. We are asking for help to cover these expenses for Fred and Frank. We don’t know what their future holds, but we want to give them the best care possible.

Last night we were asked to take a little Frenchie found wondering in the road. Her eye was ruptured and she is skin and bones. Our vet got us in early this morning. Saving her eye is very unlikely but we are going to try. We named her Sally. Sally only weighs 12 pounds and she is around 6 months old. She is very friendly and sweet. She is on numerous meds for her eye and ear infections. She will need to be spayed and most likely eye enucleation. We don’t know her past but she will be loved and cared for from now on.
