British actor Charlie Cox is having a very successful career in television, film, and theatre. He's especially known for his portrayal of Matt Murdock, a blind superhero, on several seasons of Marvel's Daredevil, as well as roles in The Theory of Everything, Stardust,  and, more recently, for his year on the Harold Pinter play, Betrayal, which was sold out in London before coming to Broadway. Charlie has continually used his status and visibility to do so much for the less fortunate, including travel and outreach with various charities.  

Charlie's birthday is December 15th! Once again, we've created this GFM out of appreciation for Charlie's endless generosity, in the vein of something we thought he'd enjoy: a fundraiser benefitting Sightsavers International, a charity he already personally supports.

Together, you've all raised $4500+ over the past three years for different charities as an annual birthday gift to Charlie. ♥
And he's said to us, directly, 'It's the best gift anyone could give me.'

Starting today through Monday, December 14th, we're hoping Charlie’s fans will come together and help raise a little money for this very worthy cause. Everyone is struggling with 2020 so any donation, big or small, is loved and appreciated and goes toward making this world a better place. 

Donations from any country will be converted on the site! Please leave a comment with your donation so Charlie can read those messages on his birthday!

Like our hero Matt Murdock, the team behind the Save Daredevil movement is committed to helping others and making a difference whenever possible. Introducing the #BeTheHero Charity Initiative to benefit the organization Sightsavers.

Sightsavers is an international charity working in some of the poorest countries in the world to prevent sight loss and avoidable blindness, as well as promote equal opportunities for people with disabilities. Their vision is a world in which avoidable blindness is eliminated, and they have been working tirelessly since 1950 towards that goal.


We started the #BeTheHero Charity Initiative as a way to allow fans of the Daredevil show and comics to give back to a worthy vision based charity. In order to give fans different options to support, we've set up this GoFundMe page, where you can immediately donate to our goals. You can also check out our charity eBay auctions from now until Friday, June 7  - listings include Daredevil items autographed by Charlie Cox and other creators, as well as original art by Chip Zdarsky, with 100% of all winning bids going straight to Sightsavers.

As many of you know I am running the NY     marathon on November 3rd.
